Books I'd Slay a Lion to Get Early

The wonderful day that is Tuesday has finally arrived. Why is it wonderful? Well, it's because of the beloved Top Ten Tuesday by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week's topic is all about books that you are desperate to get your hands on. I have a few, but I couldn't think of tons of series that I was reading, or books I was really waiting for. However, there are some that I really want to know what the resolution of their stories ends up being (even to just read someone else's synopsis), so I've decided to include those as well! Here's my list:

1) The Queen of Air and Darkness - Cassandra Clare
The number one book I am dying to get my hands on. I've already pre-ordered my copy, but the wait until December is painful

2-4) The entire The Last Hours series - Cassandra Clare
Yes, I'm cheating and counting this as three - it is a trilogy, anyway! More Will and Tessa? Yes please. I'm so in love with these two, it's ridiculous, and being able to see the antics of their children will I'm sure be brilliant.

5) A Dream of Spring - George R. R. Martin
That is, assuming this is the last one in A Song of Ice and Fire. Yes, I do want to know what happens in The Winds of Winter, but I am more interested in how everything resolves at the end.

February 2018 Update!

Well, it's been a month of TV for me it seems! I've started a few new series and finished up several. Things have been pretty busy with work and school, so I haven't been reading too much, but it's nice to take a break and wind down by watching an episode here and there. Unfortunately with all of that, I'm pretty behind on my TBR Challenge, but I expect that I will be able to catch up in the spring, so I'm not too worried yet. So, without further ado, here's what I've been up to in February:

Started Watching:

Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir
Yes, I started watching a children's show...and I loved it. It's cheesy, repetitive and predictable, but it's basically a modern Sailor Moon in Paris. I quickly got hooked on it, and I can't wait until season 2 is translated and on Netflix.

The Irregular At Magic High School
I'll be honest, I don't know if I'm going to finish this series. There are some interesting things about it, but it can also be downright creepy. If sibling relationships that are uncomfortably close and intimate bother you, then don't even consider this one for a second. If you can get past that, it has some interesting plot points. I don't think it's overly well explained though, so you kind of have to get over a few things to watch this one.

Exciting News from Cassandra Clare

A few weeks ago Cassandra Clare announced that she would be writing a high fantasy book for adults! I'm very excited about this, and definitely intrigued to see what direction she goes in. I love her storylines, but occasionally I wish that the writing was a little more mature, so I am looking forward to seeing what she does with this series.

You can read her post about it here: Big News!

On a similar note, we have a bit more information regarding Clare's next Shadowhunter novels. The Queen of Air and Darkness now has cover art...and it's beautiful! I loved the cover for Lady Midnight, but I was a bit disappointed by Lord of Shadows. This one however, is a stunner. Is the suspense killing you? Well, here it is:
