Books I'd Slay a Lion to Get Early

The wonderful day that is Tuesday has finally arrived. Why is it wonderful? Well, it's because of the beloved Top Ten Tuesday by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week's topic is all about books that you are desperate to get your hands on. I have a few, but I couldn't think of tons of series that I was reading, or books I was really waiting for. However, there are some that I really want to know what the resolution of their stories ends up being (even to just read someone else's synopsis), so I've decided to include those as well! Here's my list:

1) The Queen of Air and Darkness - Cassandra Clare
The number one book I am dying to get my hands on. I've already pre-ordered my copy, but the wait until December is painful

2-4) The entire The Last Hours series - Cassandra Clare
Yes, I'm cheating and counting this as three - it is a trilogy, anyway! More Will and Tessa? Yes please. I'm so in love with these two, it's ridiculous, and being able to see the antics of their children will I'm sure be brilliant.

5) A Dream of Spring - George R. R. Martin
That is, assuming this is the last one in A Song of Ice and Fire. Yes, I do want to know what happens in The Winds of Winter, but I am more interested in how everything resolves at the end.

6) The final Outlander book - Diana Gabaldon
I likely won't be able to get through the entire series (we'll see though), but I would really love to have a few things answered for me that have come up due to time travelling and magic plot lines.

7) Kingdom of Ash - Sarah J. Maas
After the cliffhanger at the end of Empire of Storms, I don't know how you couldn't be anticipating this one!

8) Ogre Enchanted - Gail Carson Levine
Although I am hesitant about this in one sense because it is sort of a prequel to Ella Enchanted, it is more of a companion novel, so I don't worry overly about it damaging the book for me. It would be nice to go back into that world, however.

------------
I can't think of any more off the top of my head, but that's some I'm really looking forward to reading and/or hearing the story. What are some that you are excited for?

  1. I didn't know George R.R. Martin was still writing books. For some reason, I thought he'd retired. I hope you enjoy "A Dream of Spring."

Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!

    1. He's been writing the next book (Winds of Winter) so slowly that it sort of feels like he's retired...I think the last book was 7 years ago? He's done some companion pieces, but focused a lot on the show I believe.

    2. Cool. I hope he finishes the Game of Thrones series before he actually retires. :)
