TTT: First Ten Books I Reviewed

A quick topic this week for That Artsy Reader Girl's Top Ten Tuesday, and that is about the first ten books that you reviewed. Although we could include Goodreads reviews, I decided to just focus directly on my blog this time. I knew some of these were my first reviews, but there were a couple I had forgotten were near the beginning! I've included links to them in case you want to check them out, but let's be honest, some aspects of my style have completely changed!

1) Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
2) Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare
3) Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas
4) Me Before You by Jojo Moyes (this is a book-movie comparison, but I'm including it anyway)
5) Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas
6) Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas
7) Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Maas
8) Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare
9) Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier
10) Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro

Bonus (because of #4): The Time Machine by H. G. Wells

Did you know I have an Instagram account for Clockwork Bibliotheca? I'm still getting used to posting on there, but if you want to follow me there, check me out here:

  1. Oh it's amazing how reviewing styles change over time!

Cassandra Clare and sarah Maas are both authors I still need to try.

    1. It took me a while to warm up to Maas, but I was addicted to Clare's books right away. Some of her series are better than others, but I would absolutely check her work out.

    1. I originally picked them up because I was trying to figure out recommended reads for fans of the series for work (I work in a library), but then I ended up reading them all, haha.

  4. Ah lots of Sarah J Maas! The first two books were quite early reviews for me too, though just outside of my first ten, I think they were 11 & 12.

    1. I knew my first review was a Maas book, but I didn't realize how heavily populated it was with her work, haha.

    1. Thank you! I was actually a pretty big classics snob for a bit. Thankfully I've gotten over that now. I've been reading a lot of YA, and now I'm planning to go back to read some more classics because I miss them.

  7. I liked ME BEFORE YOU, although I haven't watched the movie so I don't know how it compares. I also haven't read the sequel. Not sure why, just haven't.

    Happy TTT!

    1. Well, feel free to check out my post (linked above) and it will tell you how things differ. I did really like the movie, and thought it did a good job. I read a little bit of the sequel, but it didn't feel quite right to me.

    1. I have a love-hate relationship with them, but the later books in the Throne of Glass series were really enjoyable

  9. Looks like you were reading straight through Sarah J. Maas's books! Those books are so long, I need some shorter books in between.

    1. I was reading two 1000 page books in a row, and it was just too much. I need a few shorter ones now before I even think about looking at another long book

  12. Yesss, I love how many SJM books are on this list! She's one of my fav author, tho I've weirdly only reviewed part of the TOG series (as in TAB, TOG, and DOT). Speaking of which, I still need to pick up KOA...I should (hopefully) be doing this within the next couple of days tho!

    Happy reading!
